CYBER10 Metal Storm - Female Fronted Metal

       

For the fourth volume of CYBER10 Metal Storm, a different focus was taken. This time  the meaning is to gather good bands with female vocalists. A very varied tracklist was made including from Melodic Metal songs to Prog Metal to Ballads to a more Extreme Metal. As always, bands come from many places on the Globe and as Christmas is approaching, The Beckoning, from Canada, makes a brilliant participation with the popular song What Child is This.

Vanessa Rafaelly is a metal singer from Amapá, in the North of Brazil. In a region which the metal is not so strong and popular, Vanessa are among the ones who try to make the difference for a changing. She was the lead singer for the bands Seed Falls, The Last Evenfall and her current band Mysterial, besides singing in many opera oriented events and teaching singing. Her latest work was with the musician and producer Alan Flexa for the recording of alternative/progressive tracks.

Nelly Khosrovyan is an Armenian singer who took part in the program X-Factor Armenia and is now in a solo career singing Symphonic Metal.

Codigo Eterno is a christian rock/hard rock band from Honduras formed in 2004 by Jean Fuentes. All members are from Honduras, apart of the vocalist, who is Spanish. Sometimes is easy to see some similarities with Evanescence.




Tirza (Brazil)

Tirza is an Alternative Metal from Goiânia (Central-Western region of Brazil). The band was formed in 2010 by the main member at that time Tiago Siqueira and Alanna Andrade. Tirza has many influences, from Hard Rock to Extreme Metal.

To Cross An Angel is a three piece Christian Metal Band out of Virginia, MN. Lana Morrow (Guitar and clean/scream vocals), and Terran Morrow (Bass and back up growls/clean vocals) formed the band after parting ways with a formed secular band known as “Silenced at 801”. Shortly after forming To Cross An Angel, they added Luke Miller (drums) to the band. After playing together as a three piece for a few months, Luke ran into some personal conflicts and had to part ways. At this point in time, Lana and Terran made the decision to operate as a two piece. Lana stayed on guitar and Terran moved to playing drums along with synth. Linking a guitar amp to a bass amp split on a multi-effects pedal provided the “more full” sound for live performances. In mid August 2012, Luke contacted Lana and Terran as he was ready to fully commit to the music again. Terran moved back to bass and the original 3 piece was united again. In September 2012, the group was contacted by Sanctus Gladius Records and signed to the label later on that month. With the love and commitment for God and metal music, To Cross An Angel presents christian metal with heart, soul and faith.



The Beckoning (Canada)

The Beckoning' is an Extreme Gothic Metal band from Edmonton,Alberta,Canada that fuses the aggression of Extreme Metal with the majestic ambience of Gothic soundscapes. Founded by Meghann and Roy Turple and joined together with guitarist/bassist Eldon Loewen, the trio combine their influences together in a songwriting formula that is both unorthodox and organic.




Holyforce (Colombia)

The band started in 2006, in Bogotá, by Alexander Guillen, under the name of Paradigma intending to play instrumental songs. In 2007 they changed the name to Holyforce and decided to play Prog and Hard Rock. Through the the years the band adopted more Power and Heavy Metal influences, getting to a final result which is the style of Holyforce nowadays.

In the end of 2010, Emile Mourao, Diego Santiago, Gilberto Faria and Deived Roger had ideas to start a band with a different sound, which translates the different influences of each one of them. With that vision they started doing some covers and later Gutto Guarnieri joined to play the bass. The band is influenced by various segments of the metal and rock as Death Metal, Progressive Metal, Melodic Heavy Metal, Symphonic Metal, as well as Hard Rock and Gothic Rock. The focus is on the band's own compositions and versions of popular tunes of bands as Death, Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Dream Theater, Bullet for my Valentine, Mudvayne, and many others.



HevoraH (Brazil)

The band started in 2005 and since that they were playing many gigs around São Paulo getting the attention of the public and critics, mainly because of their Nightwish covers. The band took part in an MTV program as Nightwish cover and opened for the real Nightwish in it's concert in Brazil.




Ravenland (Brazil)

Ravenland was founded in 1997 by Dewindson Wolfheart and became one of the great names in the Brazilian Gothic Scene. The last studio album "And a Crow Brings Me Back" (2009) has as special guests Ricardo Confessori and Tommy Lindal and was mastered in Germany by Waldemar Sorychta. Ravenland has it's video clip "End of Light" being played on MTV and nowadays they are recording a new album with the great singer Juliana Rossi on the vocals.

CYBER10 Metal Storm - Keepers Of The Cross II



CYBER10 Keepers Of The Cross compilation is back with great metal bands in the Christian genre. Some facts must be pointed here: This is first participation of bands from Honduras (Soter) and Mexico (Carlos Osnaya). The band Maestah has it's first single included here as well the guitarist Joabe Vasconcelos who has his first official song included in this compilation. The art cover was taken from a TV miniseries named "Pillars Of The Earth" which was based on the novel of the same name by Ken Follet.

The band started in 1994, in Campo Grande / MS - Brazil, with Doom Metal as initial music tendence. After some changes in the line up, the band start to compose new songs that in 1999 could be recorded with a better quality, resulting in the first album called "Gothic Soul". At this time, influenced by Heavy Metal, but not losing the Gothic and Doom Metal influences, keeping melody and feeling in the songs. This album had a good rate by brazilian especialized media, and a lot of publishings in USA and Europa. At last the band re-released "Gothic Soul", remasterized, including 3 bonus tracks. In 2005 the band release your second allbum called A matter of time (Bombworks Records-EUA) and in 2006 release the EP Lost Essence.

Internationally known for the album "Motus Perpetuus", Dynasty hasn't stop. The band from Minas Gerais,  has a new album named "Warriors of the King" a great heavy/power metal record. Dynasty takes part in this compilation with the song Bloody War, a Helloween-like song, for the lovers of melodic power metal

Clean Heart (Brazil)

Clean Heart makes heavy metal with some power/melodic influences. Samuel, the soul of the band, is, at the same time, the guitarrist and vocalist and their concerts are usually full of energy. This brazilian band has only a demo release named “Fight In The Name of God” with 4 tracks.


Joabe Vasconcelos (Brazil)

Joabe has been playing guitar for 20 years, also playing in many bands. His influences are mainly from the 80's as Van Halen, Steve Vai, Ritchie Blackmore, among others. He is the guitarist for the singer Ton Carfi in the First Anointed Reunion Live, touring and recording. Joabe nowadays is also playing in a gospel band and taking a licentiate course in Music at Faccamp University. The song Spiritual Mind was recorded exclusively for this compilation at QG Studio (São Paulo, Brazil) with the support of Sérgio Ramos and Marcos Costa.



Carlos Osnaya (Mexico)

Osnaya is a Mexican-American neo-classical metal guitarist, composer and arranger. At the age of 16, he became part of the Difrent bands of mexico. He is well known in the South and North American, Asian and European hard rock/metal scene. He toured the globe with his band Exousia, which is an extreme metal band with christian lyrics.

After a time when Celso de Freyn (singer of Seven Horizons) came from Italy to Brazil for personal reasons, he decided to start a new project. He has been playing with a new band for quite a time but now de Freyn decided it was time to spread the news about the band for they got their first single released, which is the one included in this compilation.


Soter (Honduras)

Soter started in 1996 and after many member changes, they released, a few time ago, the album Eterno Silencio. The song in this compilation is a cover version of the band Azeta, from Chile.


Tryumphall (Brazil)

Hailing from a place in Brazil which is not well on the metal scene (Vitória da Conquista), Tryumphall stands strong on a power melodic metal sound, influenced as well by progressive styles.


C-Force (Finland)

The band was formed in the early 00's and has a demo EP containing 3 songs. C-Force is influenced by bands as Stratovarius, Helloween and the essential of the Melodic Power Metal.



Holy Cross (Brazil)

Holy Cross is a metal band from São Paulo, formed in 2001. The band released a demo cd in 2002 with the name MEDIEVAL HEART with 3 tracks influenced by gothic and medieval ambience. After just a few concerts, the band stopped playing. Some songs in portuguese were made, but never recorded. Holy Cross became active again only in 2011, recording a new album named VATERLAND, a release that keeps the band inside of the medieval ambience but now with elements of epic, symphonic and neo-classical metal and still with a gothic touch.

Under The Light - Illusions of Happiness



Under The Light is a very interesting project created by Brunno Pleffken (São José dos Campos - São Paulo). Although there is a real band playing the songs, Brunno inserts many electronic arrangements. The band plays mainly New Metal but influences of Gothic and Rock are also found and lyrics are well worked on songs with interesting messages covering the Christianity as theme in a deep way.
